Engagement Letter for Social Security Analysis

ENGAGEMENT COMMITMENT

This letter is to confirm our understanding of the terms and objectives of our engagement and the nature and limitations of the Social Security advisory and analytical services to be provided. I am sending you this engagement letter to clearly outline the services I intend to provide on your behalf and the fee I will charge.

In accordance with professional standards, I must obtain your signed agreement to this engagement letter. As an RSSA, I will provide Social Security advisory and analytical services in accordance with standards established by the National Association of Registered Social Security Analysts. In the performance of these services, I use specialized software that takes into consideration both your historical work history and hypothetical future assumptions to determine optimal Social Security benefit claiming dates and strategies.

Social Security analytical and advisory services provided by a Registered Social Security Analyst involve using historical earnings record along with future earnings assumptions, expected dates of retirement and death assumptions. Written reports of recommendations will be provided to you based on these assumptions, reflecting the conditions you expect will exist and courses of action you expect to take in the future. You, the client, are responsible for representations of your plan as to how long you will continue to work, when you retire and how you will live. There will usually be differences between the projected and actual results. The realization of these assumptions, and other significant information, might affect the ultimate outcome and actual results because events and circumstances frequently do not occur as expected. These differences may be significant. Our reports will contain a statement about that effect. We have no responsibility to update our report about events and circumstances occurring after the date of our report.

To get started, I will be gathering basic information and future assumptions for my use in your analysis. I will also need you to provide me with your historical earnings records. These are available online for your secure access at the SSA.gov website. If you have not already, you will need to establish your personal account online at www.SSA.gov. This is how we will confirm your reported past earnings, which will allow for the future assumptions created via our report.

I am committed to maintaining the confidentiality and security of your information. I will never ask you to provide me with your Social Security number. This is not needed for your analysis. While I use third-party service providers, including cloud-based software when providing you this service, I maintain internal policies, procedures, and safeguards to protect the confidentiality of your personal information. In addition, I take reasonable precautions to determine appropriate procedures are in place to prevent the unauthorized release of confidential information to others.

My fixed fee for this engagement will be $150-$300 and is based on the estimated amount of time it will take to accumulate your historical and hypothetical information, perform the analytical procedures, provide you with personalized Social Security analytical and advisory services, and review results with you to your satisfaction.
